Graphic Design
The Graphic Design program at the Katharine Gibbs School gives students the opportunity to develop the knowledge and skills necessary to earn an entry-level position as a production artist, layout artist, illustrator, and electronic or freelance graphic designer. Gibbs knows you need skills beyond conceptual design to keep your edge in a competitive market. In addition to the important elements of graphic design, you'll have the opportunity to develop you conceptual and artistic talents and interpersonal communication skills. Our graphic design program also includes classes in multimedia where students can develop the technical skills required to be successful in today's digital world. Gibbs students become familiar with industry-current computer software for graphic artists so that they are up-to-date with what the graphic design industry demands.
Upon completion of the graphic design program, experience a sense of pride and accomplishment when you are able to show a professional-quality portfolio that you produced yourself. With Gibbs' Graphic Design program, you will be prepared to begin a dynamic career working in an advertising agency, design studio, corporate art department, publishing house, newspaper, or record company, or as a freelance graphic designer.
