Visual Communications
The Visual Communications Program is a 12-month certificate program that gives students hands-on experience in traditional studio courses such as Typography I, 2D Design, and Drawing I, as well as technical courses that focus on industry-current software packages.
Upon completion of the graphic design certificate program, students should be prepared for entry-level positions in fields such as publishing, media, advertising, and in art departments in various fields. In addition to the teaching of necessary foundation skills in rendering, multi-media, and animation, communication and professional skills are also emphasized. In the final term, all students attend the Portfolio Presentation course in which the organization of their cumulative program course work is emphasized and their portfolios are shown to industry professionals.
