Microcomputer and Networking Systems
The focus of this program is to provide instruction and training in how to install, configure and maintain microcomputers, operating systems and network operating systems. The program focuses on Microsoft based systems; however, students will also be introduced to the Unix operating system in order to broaden their computer networking knowledge and skill base. The Internet and its related applications and networks are also studied. This program includes a 12-week work internship that allows the student to acquire practical experience in the IT environment.
Graduates will be prepared to work for any organization that currently has installed or is planning to install a computer network. In addition, graduates should find employment opportunities with computer support organizations that consult with clients on the installation and maintenance of computer networks.
