Digital Design

Through the diploma program in Digital Design at The Art Institute of Pittsburgh - Online Division, students can pursue concentrated studies to improve existing skills, or better prepare for career changes or promotion.

Courses are offered in a six-week intensive format during which students complete assignments and participate in online discussions five days per week. Students may complete their work on those days at any time during a 24-hour period. Students are encouraged to take a maximum of two courses during each six-week session. There are two six-week sessions within each quarter.

Digital Design students learn design fundamentals, lettering and typography, and graphic design. Students create color composites and renderings, and are introduced to using computer applications and sophisticated software as design tools. Students use these tools to create high quality layouts and designs.

Diploma program students come from diverse backgrounds and have different individual goals - but they all have a common desire to grow through education.

Faculty members for this diploma program are experienced professionals who encourage the development of skills. As students advance in the program, they are guided by their instructors in developing portfolios to show prospective employers.

The Digital Design program provides students with a solid foundation for career growth. Graduates are qualified for many entry-level positions, including production or computer artists at newspapers, advertising agencies, or television stations.
