Therapeutic Health Technician
In just eight months,Therapeutlc Health Technician students will receive healthcare training in basic human anatomy and medical terminology, basic rehabilitation procedures, patient treatment methods and techniques, chiropractic aspects of rehabilitation, and functional mobility and transfer of patients. Students also receive administrative training in medical insurance, medical records, billing and collections, appointment scheduling, and public relations. Graduates may work with inpatients or outpatients with diverse diseases, injuries, and neurological or orthopedic problems, under the direction of an occupational or physical therapist or a chiropractor. Some of their duties may include walking patients with gait belts or walkers, taking patients to/from therapy, assisting with community outings, setting up treatments and appointments, and ordering equipment. Graduates can earn their diplomas and the skills necessary to be technicians or aides in medical rehabilitation facilities, hospitals, clinics, or private practice offices.
