Information Technology - Associate

The Information Technology curriculum prepares students to succeed iin the network environment. Network Engineering students explore different operating systems and learn how to build and repair computers, as well as how to plan, build and troubleshoot a network. Along with computers classes, students date business and general studies courses to ensure their success in the workplace.

The courses taught in this program provide the skills necessary to take the CompTIA A+, Microsoft Certified Professional (MCP), Microsoft Certified Systems Administration (MCSA), and Cisco Certified Network Associates (CCNA) at Bauder College, which is a testing center.

Duties for graduates of this program may include installing, configuring, managing, and maintaining a network operating system. Install and operate LAN, WAN, and dial access service for small networks. Graduates will be prepared to work for organization that currently has or is planning to install a networking configuration for their computer systems. In addition, computer support organization that consult with clients on the installation and maintenance of computers will find these graduates in high demand. Potential job position titles for certified students include Network Administrator, Network Engineer, System Administrator, and Computer Technician.
